I have had this product, along with the 48"W x 16"D x 72"H version, for over a year now. I have them in an unfinished room in my basement, and use for storage of household items, emergency supplies, and non-perishable food items. (Note, in the picture, the 6247BL is in the yellow box, the other one is same make, but wider and shallower).Once assembled, these things do exactly what they are supposed to do. It wasn't the easiest thing to assemble, but then again, I am not very good at assembling things (I am on the fair-to-poor range of assembly skills spectrum). The small pieces that hold the posts together don't always connect very easily - if you have a rubber hammer, it won't be much of an issue. The shelves don't fit perfectly, in fact I had some of them chip a little when fitting it in, but this is not affecting structural integrity, and the cosmetic damage is very minor.I will say to clean up any water/moisture on the shelves if it occurs, otherwise it can stain.I have not tested the full weight as claimed in product specifications per shelf, however, I have stored car batteries, boxes of books and papers, 4-gallon water jugs, and lots of other heavy things, and haven't had any issues. No bending, nothing ever broke, it holds as promised. I feel I can rely on these units for medium-duty storage.I actually damaged a part during my first assembly attempt. Contacted Safco, asking to purchase the replacement part. They did not have the part available separately, but instead sent me a whole new unit - a different model and materials, but same dimensions - free of charge. Eventually, I was able to fix my botched assembly (with lots of WD-40) and put the original unit together, but I am saying this just to point out that customer service is good, in my experience.Overall, I am quite happy with the purchase, for the price, after 13 months of use.The quality was better than I was expecting. There was supposed to be a 'free mallet,' but it never showed up. The boards are a higher quality particle board, and the metal finish is very good. Assembly was reasonably easy, and the shelves were very stable once completed. My only issue is that the shelves came in one single, very heavy package that was all beat to hell by the time it reached my address. Damage included knocking some of the corners off of the particle boards. It should really be better packaged for UPS shipping, or preferably, divided into two packages with much less weight per package.I really like the construction of this. I plan to use for my 3d printer. Went together fairly smoothly, but is missing a post so I can only do 1/2 of the construction. I've reached out to the manufacturer for a replacement. They said the part is on its way. Will update once part arrives. It took my husband and I 3 days to assemble this shelf, with lots of swearing! What should have been easy to assemble was horrible! Some bars wouldn’t fit easily into the keyholes and getting one into place caused another or 2 to dislodge. The pressboard is not strong and damages easily. I should have read the reviews and YES the package arrived torn up, no parts were missing. The box disintegrated on the way, losing the small pieces that are supposed to connect the top and bottom halves. But it hardly mattered because there was just no way to assemble the shelves inside the pantry closet or to assemble them outside and then move them in.It's held together by gravity -- there are two discs that fits into matching holes and slide up to secure -- so it falls apart if you try to lift it except by the corners. This is hard to do because it's so heavy and bulky, and the wooden shelves (which are needed for stability) are even heavier and don't fit well.In the end, I gave up on using them as planned. If not for their weight and how the box fell apart, I'd be returning them. Instead, I'm going to make two short shelves for my basement. To be clear: Even if it had arrived intact, this would have been a terrible product for my needs. If I could give it negative stars, I would. This is the way they will arrive. Missing parts and shelves damaged. The box had some punctures in it when it arrived, but the product itself was safe. We look forward to using it for many years. It may not be the most beautiful shelving system, but it is sturdy enough for a spouse who tends to overload shelves.Very sturdie, no nuts or bolts to deal with. Thank God!
