Don't let the word plastic scare you! These smart looking shelves are engineered to be very strong yet light weight and include a non obstructive bracket to secure them to the wall! I, also, like the fact that several units can easily be connected for uniformity and added strength. I consider them perfect utility shelves. Remember: It is important, as with any shelf, that you take weight distribution into consideration. Side Note: While these are very easy to construct I found my rubber mallet and petroleum jelly (researched but I suggest you do your own as there was nothing recommended by the manufacturer to my knowledge) made the job (and I use the term loosely) even easier!Plano Molding 9618-00 Heavy Duty Interlocking Shelving
