As many have already mentioned, the instructions have a lot to be desired. It’s all small pictures, no words. Piece out all of your parts first and the pictures do make sense. I assembled the shelf in about 20 minutes, picked it up, and man was that shelf wobbly. I thought to myself, “this is going to be a 3 person job to hang!” So, I went to bed. I woke up the next morning, had my breakfast & coffee, and completely disassembled the shelf. I then reassembled the shelf but this time I really tightened the individual pipe fittings. I mean, really tightened! Put a lot of elbow grease into getting those fittings tight. I actually used a pipe wrench (use a doubled over towel as to not mar the fittings). You could always use some sort of lever to tighten the fittings. Anyway, after doing all that, there was no more wobble and my wife and I were able to hang the shelf with ease. Had a friend mention that the shelf was “bad ass!” Take your time and tighten everything up.Nice looking shelf. A bit of a pain to assemble. Instructions were pretty meh. Just trial and error to get the shelves to swing in the direction we needed and be tight. It came with some parts preassembled we took all of it apart and pieced it back together until it was what we wanted. We needed a pipe wrench and a screw driver to unscrew some of the pieces, and a drill and mallet for mounting and anchors. Board holes where not quite spaced right. A rubber mallet helped this. Boards are heavier than I assumed and will hold a decent amount of weightTip: Get the arms where you want them On the R or L then unscrew just the nipple where the boards sit.The whole thing needs to be full assembled before mounting. It’s heavyish when assembled. I did it in my own but help to keep it on the wall and level while marking the mounting holes would help.We did scratch the powder coat off , sharpie helped hide those spots. For those who are dependent upon instructions, do not buy this. The instructions are flat out wrong/incomplete at several points. That said, they look nice once you assemble them and the images on the posting are sufficient to build them yourself. They are a bit awkward to put up since they can’t lock up all the way. Also, I saw some reviewer who said they didn’t make the holes in the right position then showed some miss alignment. You need to back off the threads on some of the connections to make space to fitI get so many compliments on these shelves. I want to put them in every roomAs other reviewers have said, the instructions are the weak link, but if you put it together from the photo it’s a piece of cake.Very nice quality, heavy duty pipes - by its design, it’s going to be virtually impossible to line every shelf up perfectly and have every pipe joint tight. I’ve done some minor plumbing and have plumbers Teflon tape handy, so I wrapped the looser joints before threading on the pipe, and it helps to tighten the joint. Worked like a charm.Man, this thing looks nice once you get it up, but it is a complete and utter pain in the rear to not only assemble, but to mount on the wall. The pipes seem very sturdy but the shelves are not real wood planks.Assembly. Ugh. So the instructions were printed as if the ink was running out, so I had to assemble this by looking at the picture. I didn't get all the right pieces, but I made it work. There was like one piece that was off. Regardless, you also can't tighten all the pipes or they won't align, so when you go to pick it up it moves like a rag-doll.It'll take two to attach to the wall if you want to be miserable, so I'd recommend three. Also, the part where you attach to the wall isn't 16" apart to match your studs, meaning you can only attach one of the three tough points to the wall. The rest have to use wall anchors. I hope you put this shelf somewhere where no one will ever bump into it or it will loosen from the wall over time.Overall, it does look really nice, but I returned the second one I bought after the nightmare of installing the first one.I loved the design but was a bit hard to put togetherNo instructions. Some of the bent pieces are welded and must go in a certain way. Had fun figuring it out.No mounting screws at all. Fun trip to Home Depot ensued. The drive cost more in gas than the product but it turned out fine. May not be for you if you need to do all this to install.
